About The Position

The Medical Lab Tech Apprentice at CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region is a training role designed to prepare individuals for a career in laboratory testing. The apprentice will gain hands-on experience in various clinical laboratory areas, including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, and Urinalysis. This position emphasizes the development of technical skills and problem-solving abilities necessary for performing complex laboratory tests that are crucial for disease detection, diagnosis, and treatment. The apprenticeship program is set to begin in Fall 2025, aligning with the academic calendar.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Enrolled in Arapahoe Community College Medical Lab Technician Program.
• Completion of prerequisite coursework as provided by Arapahoe Community College Medical Lab Technician Program.

Nice To Haves

• MLA (ASCP) or Phlebotomy certification, such as PBT(ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of general testing within the analytical laboratory.
• Exhibit complex problem-solving skills in laboratory settings.
• Demonstrate entry-level skills in clinical laboratory areas such as Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, and Urinalysis.
• Prepare for the National Medical Laboratory Technician Certification upon completion of the program.
