IMC is currently hiring a Medical Lab Scientist/Technician (MLS/MLT) , who is responsible for m aintaining skills in manual and automated testing of moderate and high complexity in all sections of the laboratory, which include chemistry, hematology and coag, urinalysis, microbiology, blood bank, and immunology; following QC and QA protocols; becoming proficient in using the Laboratory Information System; abiding by all regulatory requirements including CAP, TJC, CMS, and OIG legal lab compliance; and participating in proficiency testing.

Requirements

• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology is required, a Bachelor degree is preferred
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP or AMT
• Current license as a Clinical Laboratory – Technician with the LSBME
• 6 months Clinical training through an approved MLT training hospital or previous MLT experience
• Working knowledge of testing of waived, moderate, and high complexity in the following disciplines: General Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Therapeutic Drugs, Toxicology, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank, Parasitology, Serology, and Microbiology
• Analytical computer skills and knowledge of laboratory workflow
