About The Position

HSHS St. Mary's Hospital is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to join our lab team! This position is responsible for conducting a variety of tests on patient samples (blood, various body fluids, cells, and tissue, etc.) to detect the presence or absence of health conditions.

Requirements

• Associate's degree required.
• Successful completion of a National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited medical laboratory technician program.
• At least 60 academic credit hours including 6 hours of chemistry and 6 hours of biology.
• Successful completion of a 50-week US military medical laboratory training course, or 3 years full-time lab experience in an accredited laboratory within the last 10 years.
• Medical Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician certification or eligibility for certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an accredited lab is preferred.
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a variety of tests on patient samples to detect health conditions.
