About The Position
STRIDE Community Health Center is seeking a Medical Interpreter to join our team. The primary role of the Medical Interpreter is to interpret and translate complex medical information for patients who speak foreign languages, ensuring clear communication between medical staff and patients. This position is crucial in facilitating understanding of medical conditions, treatment options, follow-up appointments, billing, and insurance details. The Medical Interpreter will accompany patients during office visits, providing necessary information and support throughout their healthcare journey. The ideal candidate will be fluent in at least two foreign languages commonly spoken by our patient population, particularly those seeking refugee screenings and other medical services. A strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is essential for effective communication with doctors, nurses, and other medical staff. The role requires excellent translation skills to accurately convey tone, style, and cultural nuances from one language to another. Interpersonal and communication skills are vital, as the Medical Interpreter will interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, ensuring a respectful and clear exchange of information. In addition to interpreting duties, the Medical Interpreter will attend all staff meetings and other assigned meetings, contributing to the collaborative environment at STRIDE. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $22.00 to $28.00, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and optional vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with matching contributions.
