Requirements

• High-School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of conversation/translation competency testing in a secondary language.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform interpretation, translation, and medical escort services for non-English speaking patients.
• Translate written documentation related to patient care services.
• Ensure accurate communication of outpatient services, hospitalization details, and health care education to patients.
• Provide interpreter services, conveying the exact message without summarization.
• Document required information as identified by the International Patient Center.
• Promote customer satisfaction and notify the Supervisor of any issues affecting patients or staff.
• Participate in continuing education programs and competency training for professional development.
• Follow all policies and procedures related to service and employee work rules.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding patient care and visitor issues.
• Participate in on-call coverage for interpretation/translation services during assigned hours.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
