We are currently seeking a Medical Insurance Billing Specialist to join our team. This full-time position is essential in ensuring that our billing processes are efficient and compliant with all relevant regulations. The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for understanding and staying informed about changes in procedures, billing guidelines, and laws for specific insurance carriers or payers. The role requires charge entry experience and a positive attitude, as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Critical thinking skills are essential, as the specialist will need to look for and recommend improvements to processes and procedures. Candidates should have at least one year of experience posting payments in a medical provider setting, such as a hospital or physician's office. Attention to detail is crucial, along with extensive knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and MCPc's coding. The specialist will research, appeal, and resolve unpaid insurance claims for Federal payers, respond to recoupment correspondence letters from insurance carriers, and ensure that payment entries are completed accurately and in a timely manner. The role also involves balancing daily batches and verifying all payment types are posted accurately. The Medical Billing Specialist must maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulations while protecting patient and company information. The position requires a commitment to delivering high-quality results and actively pursuing educational opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills. Other duties may be assigned by the department manager as needed.
