About The Position

This person will perform various duties of the Medical Information Department as assigned by the department director.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Health Information preferred

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to requirements of the organization's policies and procedures that are both patient focused (clinical) and organizational focused (administrative). Adheres to HIPAA regulations and policies.
  • Maintains the security of patient electronic/written records.
  • Demonstrate a desire to set and meet objectives and to find increasingly efficient ways to perform tasks.
  • Mail physician orders daily to the attending physicians.
  • Tracks and follows-up on the initial certifications that are not received from the attending physicians.
  • Demonstrates the ability to cover the task of daily mail.
  • Audits for medical record documents, including the Medical Directors Initial Certification documents on a daily basis.
  • Expected to perform additional duties as assigned.
