We are seeking a Medical Imaging Technologist Assistant to assist the MRI Technologist at VCU medical centers. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, daytime hours; no nights or weekends. The day off may rotate from week to week.

  • Transports patients between the facility and scanner and completing documentation.
  • Provides operational and administrative support to the technologist.
  • Preparing, cleaning and sanitizing exam areas, changing table linens, patient verification, and helping with patient transfers from and to beds, wheelchairs, and carts.
  • Managing patient exam records, ensures patient comfort, engage in ethical conduct, and make sure work adheres to regulatory requirements.
  • Complying with safety and quality procedures and initiatives by strictly following safety policies, rules and safe work methods, making suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety, promptly correcting or reporting safety hazards or unsafe conditions, promptly reporting injuries for timely diagnoses and medical treatment, and by participating in safety processes such as safety committee, safety inspections, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Prior healthcare experience strongly preferred; customer service experience desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational, accuracy and detail orientation skills.
  • PC proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • CPR certified, DMS will assist with this process if not already certified.
  • TB and influenza (if required by the medical facilities).
