About The Position

The Medical Imaging Assistant performs radiologic procedures with direct supervision under other Medical Imagers. This per diem position is for students currently enrolled in their final year of a JRCERT-accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Radiography, or equivalent.

Requirements

HS diploma or equivalent
Current student enrolled in their final year of a JRCERT-accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Radiography, or equivalent
NH Medical Technician OR Temporary Medical Technician
BLS within 30 days

Responsibilities

Operates the section’s imaging equipment while performing section procedures.
Reviews medical record for patient history and pertinent clinical information.
Transfers the patient to the imaging table, explains the procedure, and positions the patient according to protocol.
With a registered Medical Imager, reviews films for correct positioning and overall film quality.
Under the direction of a registered Medical Imager, performs additional films and uses suggested technical factors.
Assists radiologists with difficult patients or complex problems.
Administers all steps of the X-Ray with the patient: pre-exam processing, performing the exam, and post-exam documentation.
Maintains the cleanliness of all rooms, machines, and cassettes in the department.
Maintains supply inventory.
Utilizes applicable aspects of the Radiology Information System.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
