About The Position

Fairview Range is hiring a Medical Imaging Assistant for our Diagnostic Imaging Department in Hibbing, MN.
The Fairview Range Imaging Departments strive to support each other and our patients through interdisciplinary collaboration and the goal of making a difference in our patient's health. The Medical Imaging Assistant is responsible for providing diagnostic imaging support for patients with the knowledge and ability to collect information, assess, and intervene as appropriate in the care of patients. Coordinates and works with the other members of the patient care team by performing a variety of administrative and clinical functions. Responsibilities include rooming patients, health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, assisting technologists and RNs, and other duties as assigned
Schedule: This position will work 72 to 80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours on the Day/Evening shift. Weekends: As Needed

With imaging services at Fairview Range Medical Center and the Fairview Mesaba clinics, we serve patients in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. We provide a vast array of imaging services including x-ray, CT, MRI, mammography, fluoroscopy, and pain management, as well as ultrasound and nuclear medicine.
Supports a growing team of primary and specialty care providers.
Opportunity for on-the-job training into additional modalities.
Teaching institution for area Radiologic Technologist programs.
American College of Radiology accreditation for CT, MRI, and Mammography.
Multidisciplinary care team including Radiologic Technologists, Medical Imaging Assistants, RNs, and Radiologists

Requirements

• High School or GED

Nice To Haves

• Completion of CNA or CMA training program
• Experience in Medical Assisting, Nursing Assistant, or assistant in Imaging

Responsibilities

• Documentation and Charting.
• Documents orders accurately in accordance with RRHS's policies and procedures.
• Assures that processed orders are signed by the provider.
• Notifies staff of new or changed orders promptly.
• Responsible for documenting patient history, information, and encounters.
• Direct Patient Care.
• Obtains health history from the patient.
• Identifies and promptly reports patient’s condition to provider.
• Sanitizing medical supplies and disposing of materials that have been used.
• Prepares patient for exam and explains to the patient in laymen's terms.
• Cleaning and stocking of supplies for the exam rooms.
• Telephone calls
