About The Position

This position assists technologists and/or nurses in the department by performing non-technical, patient and procedure-related duties in accordance with department/facility policies and procedures. You will work closely with a team to ensure efficient delivery of care to patients, while also having opportunities for career growth and development.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
• Certification for BLS
• Good judgment and effective communication skills
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Computer literacy and knowledge of commonly used office software
• Good organizational skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience in IV placement
• Prior experience as a transporter, EMT, and/or nursing assistant
• Previous experience working with electronic medical records and insurance
• Knowledge of filing and/or retrieval systems

Responsibilities

• Checking-in patients
• Processing payments
• Starting IVs
• Checking blood work if needed for exams
• Assisting CT/MRI Techs
• Prepping patients for exams
• Burning CDs and printing reports
• Greeting patients and medical staff
• Answering incoming telephone calls
• Scheduling appointments and entering orders
• Providing general information to customers
• Maintaining patient records and ensuring all reports are filed correctly
• Digitizing and uploading images into PACS
• Confirming patient demographics and insurance information
• Calculating and collecting copays and deductibles
• Coordinating patient appointments and discharges
• Assisting in pre and post procedure room preparation
• Maintaining adequate levels of office and medical supplies
