About The Position
A leading acute care hospital in North Central Florida is seeking experienced Medical ICU Registered Nurses (MICU RNs) to join a high-acuity critical care team. This role supports a busy Medical Intensive Care Unit caring for critically ill patients with complex medical conditions. Ideal candidates are clinically strong, detail-oriented, and thrive in fast-paced ICU environments that emphasize evidence-based practice and teamwork.
Requirements
- Active Florida RN license or compact RN license (FL license required within 60 days if relocating)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience (ICU preferred)
- BLS (AHA) within 30 days of start
- ACLS within 90 days of start
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Nice To Haves
- Prior MICU, ICU, or high-acuity stepdown experience
- Strong Med-Surg RNs with demonstrated critical care readiness
- BSN
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to critically ill ICU patients
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuous monitoring
- Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage ventilated patients per protocol
- Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Identify and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and recovery plans
- Accurately document care, assessments, and interventions in the electronic medical record
- Support quality improvement initiatives and ICU best practices
