About The Position

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team at Heart Clinic of Hammond in Hammond, LA Responsibilities: Schedules patient appointments efficiently, including appointments directed by referring providers. Checks in patients at clinic locations and confirm scheduled appointments. Accurately enters and updates patient demographic, insurance, and authorization information in required systems to ensure timely reimbursement. Verifies medical insurance coverage, eligibility, and patient demographic information. Informs patients of encounter co-pays, deductibles, and account balances; collects payments at the time of visit as applicable. Provides patients with required forms and facilitate their completion. Assists patients with presumptive applications, as applicable. Answers telephone calls in a timely and professional manner; respond to inquiries or transfer calls according to established procedures. Uses paging systems appropriately and page providers for hospital consults or call-backs as needed. Maintains accurate scheduling systems and appointment records. Provides coverage for check-in and check-out at other clinic locations as needed Greets and assists patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner. Maintains confidentiality and safeguard patient health information in compliance with HIPAA. Performs related duties as required to support clinic and organizational operations When, position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Office 365 programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Working knowledge of EMR systems
  • A High School diploma or GED from accredited institution is required
  • Three (3) years of Medical Front Office experience is required
  • If the indvidual in the role will drive for work purposes, a current valid state driver’s license and required minimum auto insurance coverage.

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiology experience is preferred
