About The Position

The Medical Esthetician reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The Medical Esthetician, under the clinical direction of the Medical Director and the administrative direction of the Practice Administrator has the authority and accountability for providing, planning, selling and organizing activities relating to the quality of the patient's cosmetic care. Description Performs Cosmetic consultations when recommended by provider. Safely operates the laser to administer laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation treatments within the specifications of the equipment manufacturer and the physician. Maintains a safe and sanitary treatment room. Captures pre- and post-treatment photos adhering to HIPAA guidelines. Promotes additional services and cosmetic products. Evaluates effects of treatment, observes and notes patients response/progress, makes recommendations and adjustments as appropriate, provides cosmetic consultations. Maintains clear communication in Epic EMR. May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Aesthetician, Licensed (IL).
  • Diploma or certification of completion from an accredited institution for Aestheticians.
  • Previous experience with laser and light-based technology, medical-grad, chemical peels, and use of skincare products in a medical spa (medispa, medspa), dermatology, or plastic surgeon’s office.
  • Specialty certification as required (permanent cosmetic professional).
