About the position

The Medical Equipment Planner at Turner Construction Company is responsible for managing and coordinating medical equipment projects within the Market Segment Group (MSG) Healthcare. This role involves facilitating project planning meetings, fostering relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. The planner will also be tasked with developing processes for medical equipment planning, reviewing architectural and MEP drawings, and collaborating with various teams to optimize equipment integration and workflow in healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and lead coordination meetings with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Foster and enhance relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about equipment planning activities and project progress.
  • Participate in medical equipment planning meetings and document outcomes.
  • Follow up with stakeholders and vendors for project status updates.
  • Prepare deliverables and conduct quality control reviews during project planning.
  • Enter real-time updates of medical equipment lists within the system of record.
  • Create rough order of magnitude estimates and accurate cost estimates throughout project phases.
  • Provide leadership and foster an environment of diversity and inclusion.
  • Develop medical equipment planning processes for organized project documentation.
  • Communicate project updates to the Medical Equipment Planning team and balance team workload.
  • Review architectural and MEP drawings to assess conflicts and coordinate equipment placement.
  • Review project contracts, budgets, and schedules to align resources with project scope.
  • Develop client pay applications and conduct follow-up actions on overdue payments.
  • Stay informed of advancements in medical technology and evaluate emerging technologies.
  • Develop budgets for medical equipment considering purchase costs and maintenance expenses.
  • Analyze cost-effectiveness and return on investment for equipment options.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and facility planners for efficient layouts.
  • Identify appropriate medical equipment based on price, quality, and reliability.
  • Work with the Procurement team to support acquisition and implementation of medical equipment.
  • Evaluate inventory of medical equipment within healthcare facilities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related medical equipment or healthcare experience.
  • Expertise in using medical equipment planning software.
  • Proficient project management and planning skills.
  • Professional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and collaborative tools.
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Good judgment to identify and solve problems and delegate responsibilities.
  • Professional interpersonal and teamwork skills.
