The UNM Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a self-motivated leader for our Medical Education Program Specialist position. The Medical Education Program Specialist plans and implements initiatives and administrative aspects of our behavioral health education programs to include residency and/or fellowships. Will assess and direct a wide range of programmatic issues including long range planning, recruiting trainees, developing projects, analyzing administrative workflow, maintaining databases, communicating with faculty and trainees, and manage internal and external program relations. Position coordinates: trainee recruitment, selection and onboarding, provision of services to trainees; oversees the establishment and maintenance of complex clinical rotations schedules, and the recruitment of internal/or external sites and preceptors. Position is responsible for the day-to-day operational and financial management of programs to include maintenance and tracking of documentation required for accreditation, monitoring budgets, personnel issues, and coordination of special events including site visits and graduation. Will serve as the primary point of contact and liaison with faculty Program Directors, incoming and current trainees, faculty educators, and governing agencies. Duties require expertise with multiple MS Office programs, specialized application systems, basic accounting, hiring contracts and purchasing, as well as experience with developing promotional or educational materials. The ideal candidate must be able to work closely and effectively with a variety of people in a fast-paced environment, be detail-oriented and able to adapt to changing priorities. The Medical Education Program Specialist must be an exceptional communicator with proven success in a team environment, be extremely organized, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain complete confidentiality.
