About The Position

The Division of Cardiology, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Medical Education Program Coordinator to oversee the administrative and operational management of the Cardiology Fellowship Program. Responsibilities include coordinating recruitment and interviews through ERAS and NRMP, managing fellow onboarding and orientation, maintaining and managing the fellowship call schedule, maintaining accreditation documentation and evaluations in systems such as New Innovations, coordinating conferences and committee meetings, and supporting fellows and faculty throughout the academic year. The coordinator works closely with fellows, faculty leadership, and Graduate Medical Education(GME) to ensure smooth program operations and compliance with institutional and ACGME requirements. The Department of Internal Medicine is a large, progressive department with a diverse staff working in dedicated teams to provide quality work in an organized, effective, and efficient manner through innovation, training, and education. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with New Innovations, ERAS, and GME program management systems.
  • Knowledge of ACGME accreditation standards and fellowship administrative operations.
  • Experience with Banner Finance, Chrome River, and UNM institutional systems.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and credentialing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic academic medical setting.
