About The Position

Generates treatment plans and dose calculations based on prescribed care plan. Works under the general direction of the physicist in Radiation Oncology department. One year experience in dosimetry. Basic math abilities, able to read and understand English, ability to work with others, ability to develop independent thinking and judgment when making decisions. Aptitude for geometry. Prepares computerized treatment plans. Calculates treatment times and monitor units for different therapeutic machines. Performs dosimetry checks on treatment charts. Assists in taking patient contours or other relevant patient measurements, obtaining patient data needed for planning and calculation. Assists in the set-up of complex treatments, both in the simulation room and treatment room. Works closely with and under the direction of medical physicists. Performs other duties as assigned.
