About The Position

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine to join our team! JOB SUMMARY: Medical provider. Serves as a Primary Care Provider to evaluate, treat, and deliver comprehensive, preventive, and wellness-oriented care to patients of all ages. Perform work and sports-related physicals, well-child checks, and annual wellness visits. Participate and comply with ACO requirements such as care coordination with specialty Physicians and Providers and facilitate quality care gaps and preventative services. Women’s Health experience preferred. In addition to conventional primary care, this role emphasizes integrative and holistic treatment modalities including: lifestyle medicine, chronic disease management and coordination with complementary health providers. Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (M.D. or D.O.)
  • Maintain current Idaho licensure, Federal DEA and IBOP certifications.
  • Maintain Board Certification in your specialty.
  • Complete adequate CME as required by licensure.
  • Maintain current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  • At least two years’ experience working independently in a primary care, urgent care, or emergency care setting evaluating and treating a broad range of patients, in terms of age (infants to elderly), medically compliant (infectious disease, cardiac, orthopedic, etc.) and acuity level (routine, urgent and emergent).
  • Routine physical assessment tools.
  • Communicate well with staff, patients, family members, and consultants.
  • Basic math skills necessary to calculate medication dosages, etc.
  • High level of diagnostic thinking, often rapid.
  • Must be able to perform multi-tasking with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be capable of on-the-spot problem-solving.
  • Strong knowledge of up-to-date clinical information.
  • Must be flexible.
  • Ability to inspire staff to tackle challenging work.
  • Ability to recognize, understand and address the needs of patients and family members on multiple levels.
  • Ability to communicate well and inspire trust when encountering individuals of all cultures, levels of education and walks of life.
  • Ability to project a feeling of caring and concern to others.
  • Must be able to work efficiently and comply with daily demands.
  • Works well under pressure and able to meet multiple and competing deadlines.
  • Able to work as part of a team of clinical providers who share responsibility for the patients’ well-being and the clinics’ operations.
  • Understands the requirements of being a department of a hospital and complies with that level of quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Women’s Health experience preferred.
  • Second language fluency is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and provide appropriate stabilization for patients with acute serious medical conditions or injuries and facilitate transfer as appropriate to an emergency facility or hospital.
  • Evaluate, treat and provide follow-up care to patients.
  • Perform wellness physicals and ensure documentation meets MVH quality measure standards
  • Incorporate evidence-based integrative therapies into patient care plans.
  • Educate patients on functional medicine practices.
  • Take extended patient histories covering symptoms, lifestyle, sleep, nutrition, stress, environment, and psychosocial factors.
  • Support whole-person health by addressing physical, emotional, and social factors.
  • Manage the patient’s care in a timely manner and maintain a level of productivity that is equivalent to the other providers on staff.
  • Interact with office, laboratory, radiology, and nursing staff as part of the patient care process.
  • Perform required quality assurance steps in the patient care process.
  • Interpret laboratory, radiology, EKG and basic pulmonary function tests.
  • Thoroughly and accurately document every patient encounter.
