Role Overview: Part-Time Medical Director in Locust Hill, VA We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Director to join our Locust Hill, VA team on a part-time basis. This leadership role offers an opportunity to provide clinical oversight and strategic guidance across post-acute and long-term care settings while retaining schedule flexibility and receiving strong administrative support.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license and current DEA registration
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems
Nice To Haves
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty preferred
- Experience in post-acute care, long-term care, geriatrics, or related settings preferred
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience with excellent clinical judgement
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for residents in post-acute and long-term care settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based clinical policies, protocols, and quality initiatives
- Collaborate with facility leadership, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to optimize patient care and outcomes
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings, case reviews, and clinical education
- Assess and manage acute and chronic medical conditions; provide timely escalation and triage as required
- Ensure accurate, timely documentation using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Mentor and support medical staff and advanced practice clinicians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement
