About The Position

Veterinary Wellness Clinic of Columbia in Columbia, Tennessee is looking for an Veterinary Medical Director to join our team! Our clinic is extremely unique in that area hospitals often refer complex cases to our team for advanced care. They also refer a large number of surgical cases, especially those that will require intensive post-op nursing care. This individual must have the desire to efficiency lead and manage the medical operations of a veterinary hospital, ensuring high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• Veterinarian degree (DVM) from an accredited college or university
• Current State Veterinary License
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained
• Must demonstrate a desire to continue learning in veterinary care and participate in leading staff training

Nice To Haves

• Excellent Communication Skills and the ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner with all members of the Medical and Hospital staff
• Client communication skills, must be able to elicit information, establish rapport, offer explanations with pet owners
• Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain

Responsibilities

• Oversee medical operations, lead the veterinary team and mentor associate veterinarians
• Ensure adherence to medical standards, develop and implement policies and maintain high quality patient care
• Confirm compliance to state & federal regulations related to the veterinary practice
• Facilitate effective communication between all members of the staff
• Stay up to date on current best practices & standards in veterinary care
