About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Medical Director, Board Certified (AP/CP) Pathologist, to join their high-volume regional lab in Tampa, FL. This role is integral to the Southeast leadership team, focusing on delivering high-quality patient care and customer service. Requirements

• FL-Licensed physician with Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Five years of post-training experience is required.
• Three years of experience in a high volume hospital/large referral laboratory.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to create a culture of accountability through clear expectations and high-performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative and laboratory support internally and to clients.
• Oversee medical decision-making and fulfill laboratory functions requiring a pathologist.
• Participate in the review and approval of new service offerings and assess new test feasibility.
• Analyze and respond to medical/pathology-related inquiries by internal colleagues and customers.
• Implement quality standards and help assure regulatory and legal compliance.
• Demonstrate a passion for quality and process improvement in both anatomic and clinical pathology.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines.
• Engage in expert discussions with referring providers as needed in person, phone, or electronically.
• Support sales initiatives and effectively interact with clients at meetings.
• Adapt to administrative versus service responsibilities and sign out cases as needed.
• Create an inclusive and trusted environment for collaboration and communication.
• Incorporate diverse perspectives to solve business challenges.
• Coach and provide feedback and development opportunities for team members.
