About The Position

Endeavor Health is seeking an experienced, board-certified Pediatric Intensivist to serve as Medical Director, Pediatric Critical Care at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to build and shape a growing program as we transition to an Endeavor-employed physician group model. The Medical Director will provide strategic vision, clinical leadership, and day-to-day oversight of our 16-bed Pediatric unit while maintaining an active clinical practice. This role offers protected administrative time and the unique opportunity to design the coverage model and help establish best practices for our expanding program. The ideal candidate is a seasoned intensivist ready to commit to building excellence in pediatric critical care within a supportive, community-focused environment with robust subspecialty support and modern resources.

Requirements

  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship
  • Eligible for medical licensing in the State of Illinois.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Board certification/Board eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in area of expertise in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
  • Strong clinical skills in pediatric critical care medicine
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with families, staff, and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Strategic thinking and program development capabilities
  • Flexibility and resilience in a growing, evolving program
  • Dedication to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement
  • Ability to foster a positive, family-centered care environment
  • Commitment to building and growing a community pediatric critical care program

Nice To Haves

  • Post-fellowship experience in pediatric critical care
  • Demonstrated leadership experience or interest in leadership development
  • Experience in program development or quality improvement
  • Experience in community pediatric intensive care settings

Responsibilities

  • Designing the optimal coverage model for our unit
  • Recruiting and building a cohesive pediatric intensivist physician team
  • Establishing clinical protocols and best practices
  • Shaping the future direction of the program
