Reporting to the Executive Medical Director, Rare Hematology & Rare Nephrology, the Medical Affairs Director, PNH, will develop the medical strategy, execute tactics and provide medical leadership in Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria in the US Medical team. This is a key role, responsible for providing strong scientific and medical perspective with an in-depth understanding of the PNH medical landscape. The incumbent will contribute to development and implementation of the short and long-term strategies for both inline and pipeline assets, aligning with overall Alexion organizational strategy and ensuring effective and meaningful cross-functional collaboration on the US level. Further, the Medical Director, PNH, will work with relevant Global Medical counterparts and leadership to support the Alexion Global Medical Affairs mission to improve patient outcomes by setting and continuously advancing the evidence-based medical standard of care. The Medical Director will develop and facilitate implementation of the medical (PNH) strategic plan for USMA activities by providing medical leadership, insights and strategy to USMA team across functions for one of Alexion’s disease areas of key importance in a highly competitive environment. The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.
