About the position

The position involves developing, evaluating, and implementing clinical programs to enhance patient access in oncology services. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure seamless access to services, robust patient education, and innovative screening programs. The individual will act as an admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for hospitalized patients, ensuring that care delivery meets regulatory and accreditation standards. Responsibilities also include providing medical expertise in strategic planning, infection control, and safety, while promoting patient safety and resolving conflicts in patient care decision-making. The position requires participation in clinical operational goal development and community outreach efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and implement clinical programs for patient access.
  • Represent oncology service line to the community and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for hospitalized patients.
  • Ensure delivery of care meets regulatory, practice, and accreditation standards.
  • Provide medical expertise in capital planning, infection control, and safety.
  • Identify and promote areas to improve patient safety.
  • Develop annual clinical operational goals in collaboration with leadership teams.
  • Attend clinical and research group meetings and ensure material is communicated to onsite teams.
  • Conduct physician peer review activities.
  • Assist in the development and training of continuing medical education for providers.
  • Support marketing and program development outreach efforts.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine in area of specialty.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience.
  • CPR certification required.
  • ACLS/BCLS certification required.
  • Board certification/eligibility in area of specialty.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations.
  • Ability to provide care appropriate to the patient population served.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
