As a Medical Director, Glaucoma (Pharma) supporting Medical Affairs team , you will be trusted to Lead and execute the medical strategy for the product portfolio in various stages of clinical development and/or lifecycle management of products in the assigned therapeutic area. Provide critical input into the strategy, development, management, and implementation of post market clinical or in-vitro studies for the assigned therapeutic area; will also be involved in providing strategic input for global clinical development programs and registration studies. The position includes extensive involvement with global clinical development colleagues, franchise or regional marketing, regulatory, legal and compliance. Publish, present and communicate scientific information and study data with other disease state experts to help meet the needs of patients and health care practitioners for the assigned therapeutic area. Support multiple therapeutic areas based on business needs. This will be at our Fort Worth, TX office. In this role, a typical day will include: Drive the execution of comprehensive medical affairs strategic plans Drive the development of regional medical affairs strategy for the assigned therapeutic area Lead medical and scientific support for product messaging and claims development Lead post market/phase IV studies strategy and preregistration study strategic input Support launch strategies, life-cycle management and expansion of indications for use Support Medical Publications: Develop content for whitepapers, peer-reviewed manuscripts, posters, scientific articles and video scripts Support customer medical inquires (i.e. medical exchange of information with KOLs, and management of medical issues raised by customer Health Care providers) Maintain peer-to-peer relationships with Medical Experts/Key Stakeholders and members of the scientific community, utilizing scientific and medical evidence-based non-promotional materials Lead planning and execution of medical advisory board meetings Provide fair-balanced scientific and educational information to healthcare professionals on specific medical issues Support internal Alcon Medical Support and Training, and as needed for academic or healthcare professionals Medical promotional review support as needed Support of Marketing/Professional Affairs programs with scientific and technical support

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs.; Assoc.+14 yrs.; M.S.+7 yrs.; PhD+6 yrs.)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 10 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of and commitment to compliance including knowledge of ICH, GCP, local and regional guidelines and regulations on interactions with HCPs, and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with leading KOLs & Health Authorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix leadership environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
