About The Position

The Medical Director for Diabetes at Novo Nordisk is a senior-level role responsible for serving as the subject matter expert in the Diabetes Therapeutic Area, focusing on legacy insulin products and digital health initiatives. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including marketing and global teams, to drive scientific exchange and communication with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders. The Medical Director will assist in developing strategic priorities, evidence generation plans, and will lead advisory board meetings, ensuring alignment with the company's patient-centered focus.

Requirements

• MD, DO, PhD, or PharmD required.
• A minimum of 5 years of combined clinical, research, or Pharma experience required.
• Significant US clinical experience managing patients with diabetes is strongly preferred.
• Experience in relevant therapeutic area strongly preferred.
• Strong strategic mindset and understanding of market needs.
• Familiarity with clinical trial design and assessment.

Nice To Haves

• Subspecialty training in endocrinology or diabetes preferred.
• Specific interest in digital health and technologies strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert for diabetes products and related data.
• Interface with key stakeholders across CMR, Marketing, and Global organizations.
• Assist the Senior Medical Director in developing and executing strategic priorities.
• Lead the Core Medical Team and Project Team as needed.
• Assist in the planning and execution of National Advisory Board meetings.
• Review and provide comments on clinical trial protocols and investigator-sponsored studies.
• Support the identification of National Leaders for clinical trials.
• Deliver clinical data presentations at advisory board meetings.
• Collaborate with professional associations to identify shared goals.
• Review and provide comments on publications and abstracts.
• Train Field Medical Affairs and Sales Teams on clinical trial data.
