Position Summary The Medical Director, Clinical Quality Initiatives will play an important role in CVS Health’s clinical excellence and quality oversight. Reporting to the Senior Medical Director of Quality in Medical Affairs, the Medical Director will be a clinical lead and will leverage clinical licensure and medical expertise in the review of new clinical products and services across the CVS Health enterprise. The medical director will support the enterprise quality organization in the development of clinical and non-clinical activities that impact health care quality, cost and outcomes. Additionally, you will be the clinical lead for our environmental resiliency portfolio, a portfolio of work that focuses on the impact of extreme and changing weather events on our ability to deliver care and medicine to our patients. The Medical Director will work closely with a Senior Manager to coordinate this work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
  • Minimum 2 years Healthcare Quality Leadership experience.
  • Minimum 2 years Healthcare regulations, quality measurement and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) with board certification in a relevant specialty

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in healthcare administration, public health, or a related field.
  • Experience with clinical program development, healthcare operations and management.
  • Clinical research experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the development of quality improvement strategies and special projects to support the enterprise quality organization.
  • Advise teams about strategies for improvement or adjustment of their programs or products. Synthesize recommended improvements to clinical programs through verbal and written communications.
  • Clinical leadership of the environmental resiliency portfolio: coordinate research, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and present on findings to internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with teams to review clinical products and programs for clinical accuracy and evidence.
  • Be passionate about data and project work in a complex, large organization.
  • Demonstrate agility and resilience while working in a dynamic, ever-changing work environment.
