About The Position

As the Medical Director for the Cardiac Cath Lab, the physician is responsible for the operational management of the Cardiac Cath Lab. You will serve to assure an exceptional patient experience, promote an effective work environment, and champion exemplary teamwork and collaboration among providers, staff, and community leaders, including physicians/surgeons. The Physician is responsible for partnering with the Executive Director of Physician Services and the Director, Cardiovascular Services to implement processes and achieve outcomes as they relate to the effective performance of the Cardiac Cath Lab.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with hospital clinical and administrative leaders to ensure appropriate processes are in place to care for those patients requiring urgent or emergent cardiovascular therapies.
• Interact with regulatory, accreditation and certification agencies that have oversight of cardiovascular services related to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab (ex. DPH, Board of Registration of Medicine, etc.) to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the Director, Cardiovascular Services and physician stakeholders on process improvement and/or lean initiatives.
• Assure operational efficiency of the Cardiac Cath Lab department.
• Promote a culture of safety and accountability in the Cardiology Service Line and Outpatient Physician Practices.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and standardization within the organization.
• Promote/ensure the best patient experience in all areas of patient care delivery.
• Ensure readiness for the Joint Commission by fostering a culture of everyday readiness and optimizing necessary medical protocols and policies for all key functional areas.
• Develop and manage key performance indicators with leadership that are in alignment with the hospital's annual operational plan for all key functional areas.
• Engage participating physicians (Hospitalists, Emergency Physicians, Community Physicians, Cardiologists, etc.) in a regular manner to include their input and recommendations for program development and superior outcomes.
• Lead differing viewpoints toward consensus and standardization.
