About The Position
As Mount Sinai Medical Center continues to grow, we are seeking a Medical Director for the Wien Center for Alzheimer's Disease & Memory Disorders. This position is pivotal in leading a multidisciplinary center dedicated to comprehensive patient care, academic excellence, and innovative research in the field of memory disorders. The Medical Director will work closely with both clinical and administrative leadership to ensure the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency. The Wien Center is committed to providing personalized, coordinated outpatient evaluation and care for patients suffering from memory-related conditions. The Medical Director will play a crucial role in the strategic clinical growth of the Wien Center, facilitating the development and implementation of standardized practices and clinical pathways that enhance patient access and throughput. This role requires a strong emphasis on fostering a collaborative environment among the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that each patient receives an individualized and comprehensive assessment that meets the highest levels of patient experience. The Medical Director will also be responsible for educating residents about the diagnosis and treatment of cognitive disorders, thereby contributing to the training of the next generation of healthcare professionals. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Medical Director will support the research enterprise by maintaining and growing research collaborations, particularly through the 1Florida ADRC. This includes developing care protocols that incorporate the latest advancements in brain imaging techniques, testing for dementia biomarkers, and exploring disease-modifying therapies. The ideal candidate will be a BE/BC Cognitive Neurologist or General Neurologist with specialized training and expertise in dementia and related cognitive disorders, and a strong interest in clinical research and medical education is highly encouraged.
