About The Position

You’ll collaborate with dedicated nurses, medical assistants, patient care coordinators, Psychiatrists, and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners to deliver exceptional, compassionate care to a diverse population with complex needs. Fewer than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE. Salary is also based on years of licensure and company equity. $263,388.15 - $395,082.23 per year Bilingual Language Differential Pay. Rate depends on language requirements for the position and candidate's fluency. 5% of base salary up to a maximum of $3,000/year - The annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full time equivalency (FTE). About you. The ideal candidate is a lifelong learner, compassionate care provider, experienced medical leader, and likely has experience educating other medical professionals. This role is for those who enjoy working with a team to arrive at solutions to complex health care problems at both the individual and systems level. Schedule. This role follows a Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule with a hybrid work arrangement. While there is flexibility to work from home, on‑site presence is essential when leadership responsibilities or patient care needs require it. The Medical Director is expected to be in the office when AMHR leadership activities or clinical operations dictate. Mandatory in‑person meetings are typically scheduled in advance, but occasionally may arise unexpectedly and will require on‑site attendance.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine/Osteopathy.
  • Residency in Psychiatry (DO/MDs only).
  • Five (5) years of relevant clinical experience.
  • Three (3) years of leadership experience.
  • State of Colorado Medical License or Valid Prescriptive Authority in good standing.
  • Successful completion of an accredited residency training program in Psychiatry.
  • Required Vaccination and TB Test.
  • AMHR has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of the flu shot and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested.

  • Provide direct psychiatric services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of patients assigned, on a regular basis.
  • Provides direct supervision to medical team members, as necessary.
  • Participate in administrative duties as assigned, including chairing quality assurance or utilization review committees.
  • Work with multidisciplinary staff to evaluate and triage according to level of acuity, as needed.
  • Share 24-hour on call responsibilities with other psychiatrists for residential, outpatient and emergency care, as assigned.
  • Maintain availability by telephone for face-to-face evaluation of emergency patients, as appropriate.
  • Provide utilization review of all patients in continuing care to ensure appropriate medical/psychiatric services are received, as needed.
  • Attend team and other meetings, as necessary.
  • Provide consultation with other physicians and staff on patient care and difficult cases, as needed.
  • Attend continuing medical education conferences to maintain excellent standards of care, on a regular basis.
  • Support efforts to develop organization's talent pipeline so that staff will better mirror the diversity of the community.
  • Support efforts to enhance the recruitment and retention of medical staff.
  • Clearly communicate organizational goals around quality, compliance, standards, and policies to clinician-prescribers.
  • Articulate, communicate, and hold clinician-prescribers accountable for performance expectations, access-to-care targets, and patient experience goals.
  • Support efforts to enhance the education and training of Physician Operations/Medical Services staff, like Psychologists.
  • Identify, prioritize, and remove documentation barriers.
  • Communicate vital administrative requirements to staff with completion expectations.
  • Foster a culture of honest dialogue, emotional wellness, positive growth, interpersonal courage and healthy team norms.
