About The Position

Azure Acres Recovery Center is tucked away in the hills of Sebastopol, a small town in Sonoma County, California, just north of San Francisco. Our center treats adults ages 18 and older who struggle with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health conditions. Our Northern California drug rehab center is housed in a historic lodge surrounded by rolling green lawns, wooded hiking trails, a swimming pool and picnic area. An original Maybeck design, our rustic home features open-beam ceilings and rich wood construction, complete with log cabin furnishings that lend a feeling of comfort, safety and serenity. We are looking for a Part Time Addictions Physician, Medical Director to join our team, 10 hours a week with remote options. Responsible for leadership, quality assurance, supervision and overall medical management of the facility within the boundaries of state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • Board Certified in Addiction Medicine required.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine by the state in which the facility operates.
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the quality, efficiency and management of delivering services within a facility.
  • Define protocols and assist in decision making pertaining to the medical and clinical care of patients.
  • Provide direct patient care and assist other departments with direct interactions with physician's staff.
  • Monitor and supervise assigned staff to adherence to established medical and clinical policy.
  • Provide back up call coverage.
  • Serve in a teaching capacity for the training and development of other personnel.
  • Request appropriate diagnostic testing, clinical evaluation, and prescribe medications and treatments.
  • Assist in the management of behavioral or mental health problems of patients and maintain current clinical medical records in accordance with federal or state regulation and industry practice, as well as facility, clinic or corporate policies and procedures.
