About The Position

We are looking for an accomplished and dynamic Medical Director, Addiction Medicine Certified Physician, to lead our Detox Programs at Serenity Knolls Treatment Center in Forest Knolls, and Bayside Marin Treatment Center in San Rafael. Bayside Marin Treatment Center is a 48 bed premier rehab facility for adults seeking private, executive care for alcohol addiction, substance use disorder, and co-occurring disorders such as depression and anxiety. Serenity Knolls Treatment Center is one of the most highly respected residential programs in Northern California. A 42 bed residential treatment center that provides comprehensive services to individuals, ages 18 and above, whose lives have been impacted by substance use disorder, chemical dependency, and certain co-occurring conditions. Responsible for leadership, quality assurance, supervision and overall medical management of the facility within the boundaries of state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • Board certified in Addiction Medicine.
  • Current license to practice medicine by the state in which the facility or clinic(s) operates.
  • Board certification or certificate of admissibility for board certification by American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP), or other certification within their discipline.
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
  • Additional specific DEA credentials may be required, per state and clinic regulations or policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Medical Director preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the quality, efficiency and management of delivering services within a facility.
  • Define protocols and assist in decision making pertaining to the medical and clinical care of patients.
  • Provide direct patient care and assist other departments with direct interactions with physician's staff.
  • Directly supervise other professional clinical staff, as well as administrative or support staff.
  • Serve as a liaison between the medical staff and other staff within the facility, division or corporate staff, and organizational leadership.
  • Monitor and supervise assigned staff to adherence to established medical and clinical policy.
  • Serve in a teaching capacity for the training and development of other personnel.
  • Request appropriate diagnostic testing, clinical evaluation, and prescribe medications and treatments.
  • Assist in the management of behavioral or mental health problems of patients and maintain current clinical medical records in accordance with federal or state regulation and industry practice, as well as facility, clinic or corporate policies and procedures.

Benefits

  • Compensation range/base: $350,000 - $367,000 annually.
