About The Position

HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital is seeking a PRN Diagnostic/Medical Sonographer to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and established hospital policies and procedures. This role is responsible for accurately surveying and assessing anatomy and pathophysiology using ultrasound technology. The sonographer collaborates closely with radiologists and the healthcare team to ensure timely, precise imaging that supports accurate diagnosis and optimal patient care. Requirements

  • Graduate of, or currently enrolled in, an allied health program is required.
  • One of the following is required: Certification/registry eligible as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS). Must obtain registry within 12 months of hire/transfer. Certification as a Registered Technologist in Sonography (R.T.(S)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in allied health, applied science or completion of certificate program is preferred.
  • Experience in sonography/ultrasound is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and established hospital policies and procedures.
  • Accurately survey and assess anatomy and pathophysiology using ultrasound technology.
  • Collaborate closely with radiologists and the healthcare team to ensure timely, precise imaging that supports accurate diagnosis and optimal patient care.
