About The Position

The Medical Device Technician is responsible for providing support for Respiratory Therapist services including delivering, setting up, and maintaining specialized respiratory products and other equipment for patients in their home.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and not require work authorization from us now or in the future.
  • Valid US driver’s license with no more than 2 moving violations or at fault accidents within the last 3 years.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and not require work authorization from us now or in the future.
  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Efficient skills utilizing a PC/iPad/software for email, documentation, notes etc.
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication abilities
  • Great customer service skills
  • Professional computer experience (especially Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to work independently to investigate and make decisions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and complete work amidst interruptions in a busy work area
  • Ability to comply with guidelines both internal and industry-imposed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with respiratory equipment preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Massachusetts patients with CPAP, BIPAP, and other sleep equipment for sleep apnea related diagnoses. Equipment includes:
  • Luna G3 APAP and ResMed APAP
  • Luna 3B BPAP and ResMed BPAP
  • Mask fitting
  • Oxygen concentrators and regulators
  • Provide telehealth instruction to Massachusetts patients and/or caregivers on the proper use of certain equipment and/or respiratory care procedures—escalating to a Respiratory Therapist as appropriate.
  • Serve as a liaison between the patient and other members of the health care team as required.
  • Participate in mandatory in-services and other trainings as scheduled.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training sessions regarding respiratory patient care.
  • Keep all financial and patient information confidential, in accordance with company mandate and HIPAA security standards.
  • Coordinate with the Customer Success team on scheduling patient visits and equipment set-up.
  • Develop good working relationships with the patients and their families.
  • Follow proper company policies and procedures and ensure timely documentation.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as needed.
  • Under Massachusetts General Law 112 23V (e) [https://malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXVI/Chapter112/Section23V], complete 500 hours under the direct supervisor of a Massachusetts Licensed Respiratory Therapist.
