About The Position

Join STERIS and help healthcare teams deliver safer patient care. We collaborate with hospitals and life science partners worldwide to keep vital medical equipment operating at peak performance. What a day looks like You start from home, review your schedule, and head to a hospital in your company vehicle. You diagnose issues on STERIS and competitor devices, perform preventive maintenance, complete repairs, and document everything in our digital platforms to meet regulatory and service requirements. If a challenge needs extra horsepower, you loop in Tech Support, Engineering, or Service Contract Management to resolve it quickly. Throughout the day you communicate options, timing, and pricing with customers, and you spot opportunities to enhance their experience—coordinating with Sales when appropriate. You may support multiple facilities across your territory based on service agreements and demand. Territory and work style Remote, customer-facing role working primarily inside hospitals. To support customers in your assigned territory, you must reside in California. Autonomous scheduling to balance PMs, service calls, warranty work, installations, field upgrades, and other duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED plus 4+ years of work experience, including 2+ years in a mechanical/technical role.
  • Valid driver’s license, and ability to meet background and physical assessments for vendor credentialing (new and existing).
  • Experience collaborating with customers and teams; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Windows, email, navigation, mobile apps; entering data across multiple systems).
  • Flexibility for early/late hours and potential overnights based on customer and business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate degree, relevant certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may count toward the technical requirement.
  • People from hands-on trades often excel: HVAC, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers/chillers, general equipment repair, diesel/automotive, aviation, plumbing, or electrical.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components.
  • Own your calendar: prioritize customer/business needs to meet deadlines and SLAs.
  • Use advanced technology platforms to complete compliance steps and to record/resolve technical issues.
  • Present repair options and pricing, and collaborate with Sales—with manager support—to elevate customer experience and uncover revenue opportunities.
  • Support various customer locations within the territory as contracts and needs dictate.
