The Medical Delivery Driver role involves spending most of the day in a company-owned vehicle, safely driving and transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Must be 19 years of age
  • Active driver’s license for 3 years
  • Demonstrated dependability and reliability
  • Familiarity working with and adapting to technology
  • Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely
  • Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points
  • Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screen
  • Ability to operate company vehicles equipped with dashcam recording systems, understanding that video will be captured while operating the vehicle in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and company safety policies
  • Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions
  • Excellent driving history
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination depending on location and local mandates
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands
  • Ability to lift items off storage racks
  • Comfortable walking long distances and standing for long periods of time
  • Ability to complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review

Responsibilities

  • Safely driving and transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail and related materials in a company-owned vehicle
  • Operating a hand-held scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle
  • Strictly observing operating policies, procedures and service schedules
  • Presenting a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction
  • Loading and unloading company vehicles with appropriate equipment
  • Demonstrating safe and courteous driving behavior
  • Conducting pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintaining a clean, neat and orderly vehicle
  • Performing all duties across all routes they may be assigned, as route duties vary based on client and business needs
  • Demonstrating teamwork, cooperation and adaptability with teammates and clients
