The Medical Coordinator (LVN) at Sunny Glen Children's Home is responsible for overseeing the delivery of medical care in a non-clinical setting, focusing on disease prevention and health maintenance for youth. This role involves collaboration with various medical and program staff to ensure compliance with health services and to provide effective communication and leadership in executing quality services.

  • Provide health management and effective communication to youth and staff.
  • Manage and monitor the delivery of medical services to ensure compliance with policies and guidelines.
  • Prepare youth for examinations and record medical intake, including vital signs.
  • Initiate routine lab tests and assist medical providers during examinations.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as per provider's orders.
  • Educate and counsel youth on disease prevention and treatment.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
  • Schedule and comply with required medical appointments.
  • Respond to emergency medical needs promptly.
  • Order medical supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Submit regular reports to supervisors and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Active, unrestricted LVN, LPN, or RN license in Texas.
  • One year of experience in child welfare or social service settings.
  • One year of full-time experience in a medical environment preferred.
  • Graduated from an approved LVN nursing program.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Electronic Case Management software.
  • BLS Certification
  • Experience in pediatrics
  • Ability to commute or relocate to San Benito, TX.
