About The Position

Primary responsibilities include triaging incoming calls from clients, assessing needs, and giving appropriate clinical options. Will educate the caller when appropriate regarding immediate care, advice and preventative behaviors. Makes decisions about patients needing to be seen urgently, same day or next day. In addition, administers injections, implements physician orders, notifies patients of results as directed, and refills prescriptions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Must hold a current Connecticut State Practical Nursing License
  • Prior triage experience required
  • Superb customer service skills, empathy, patience and the ability to reassure and calm concerned callers
  • Should exhibit good clinical judgment, critical thinking and assessment skills, as well as, excellent verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in utilizing an electronic medical record highly desired
