About The Position

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist to join our team in supporting an evolving and innovative model of care for the Complexity Intervention Unit (CIU) at Froedtert Hospital. Beginning in the 2025-26 academic year, the CIU will transition from one 16-patient team to two 8-patient teams. This unique medical unit provides care for patients with complex co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions, requiring either a dual-trained Med-Psych attending or a collaborative team of an Internal Medicine hospitalist and a psychiatric consultant. The Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist will spend a portion of their clinic effort working as an embedded consultant with an internal medicine hospitalist in caring for the patients on one of the CIU medical teams. The remainder of their clinical time will be spent as a member of the Psychiatric Consultation Service at Froedtert Hospital, practicing a mix of proactive and reactive consultation-liaison psychiatry.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
• Completion of a Psychiatry residency.
• Fellowship training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (CLP) is strongly preferred.
• Candidates without CLP fellowship training but with significant experience or interest in consultation-liaison psychiatry will also be considered.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
