As a Medical Collector, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate collection of medical payments from patients and insurance companies. Requirements

• Proficiency in medical terminology, coding, and billing processes
• Strong knowledge of medical office procedures and systems
• Experience with medical collections and accounts receivable management

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records, bills, and insurance claims
• Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and billing codes
• Contact patients and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies or obtain missing information
• Follow up on outstanding claims and unpaid balances
• Negotiate payment arrangements with patients and insurance companies
• Maintain accurate records of all collection activities
• Stay up-to-date with changes in medical coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9) and billing regulations
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement
