Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Coding certification required within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Applies the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to individual patient health information for data retrieval, analysis, and claims processing.
• Interprets physician documentation within the coding guidelines and obtains clarification from physicians when needed.
