About The Position

The position involves managing customer and patient flow in a medical clinic, maintaining medical records, filing insurance claims, and handling patient billing inquiries. The role requires performing business office functions related to appointment scheduling, registration, claims management, cash collection, and medical records maintenance. The candidate may also be asked to float to other clinics during high patient volume times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required).
  • 1 year of medical office experience (Preferred).
  • 1 year experience with CPT and ICD-9 insurance coding (Preferred).
  • 1 year of customer service experience (Required).

Responsibilities

  • Screen and refer all incoming calls and customers/patients.
  • Manage customer and patient flow to ensure quick service.
  • Maintain current medical records and file secondary insurance.
  • Enter charges and payments, and pursue collections daily.
  • Investigate patient billing inquiries and order supplies.
  • Prepare mandatory computer-generated reports.
  • Create patient medical record folders for new patients.
  • Collect data such as vital signs, height, and weight.
  • Coordinate patient payments and inform patients of their financial responsibilities.
  • Perform all business office functions for the medical clinic.
  • Document and submit required information and data in a timely fashion.
  • Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in-services.
