About The Position

This role serves as a vital liaison between injured team members, plant management, medical providers, and corporate workers’ compensation to ensure timely communication and resolution of all medical and administrative needs. The Medical Case Manager is responsible for facilitating the timely return of injured or ill team members to their optimum level of function in the shortest possible time. Key responsibilities include maintaining close working relationships with plant health services, human resources, and operations management; developing individualized medical case management plans; coordinating with local medical providers; supporting injured team members through their recovery and return to permanent placement or case settlement; initiating the permanent placement process when permanent medical restrictions are assigned; and acting as the company liaison to explain workers’ compensation benefits. Occasional telephonic case management may be required. Detailed duties and performance expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program or certification in an accredited vocational rehabilitation field.
  • Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC-CCM) or American Board of Occupational Health Nursing Case Management (ABOHN-CM) certification required within 36 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Acute Care, Emergency Care, Critical Care, Utilization Review, Orthopedics, Occupational Health, or related nursing fields.
  • Basic computer proficiency required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members—from hourly employees to upper management—as well as government officials.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk during the workday.
  • Must be physically able to respond promptly to emergency situations within the facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Case Management experience is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of state workers’ compensation regulations is preferred.
