We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records efficiently. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our practice while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Requirements

High school/GED required
2 years of experience in a healthcare setting desirable
Proficient in medical billing software and systems.
Knowledge of DRG coding, ICD/ICD-10 codes, and medical terminology strongly preferred.
Understanding of medical collection processes and billing principles.
Ability to interpret patient medical records for coding accuracy.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Capable of working independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Customer service-oriented and professional demeanor.

Nice To Haves

CPT or Billing training preferred
Familiar with CPT, HCPCS, and coding guidelines is ideal.
Previous medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 to ensure accurate billing.
Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before submitting claims.
Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims .
Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues.
Follow up on on medical billing claims for appeals and payment as necessary.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and billing regulations.
Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations related to billing practices.
Assist in maintaining organized medical records for easy access and retrieval.
Additional duties as assigned and necessary for the function of the department and practice.
