About The Position
Seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to collect outstanding accounts receivable
Requirements
- Demonstrate proficient skills within Kareo
- Have a minimum of five (5) years billing experience
- Exhibit proficient English language skills (reading, writing & speaking)
- Motivated to achieve
- Experienced in working directly with major insurance carriers
- Not afraid to escalate claims to an insurance carrier’s management and/or peer review level
- Excellent at both written and verbal skills
Responsibilities
- Generate billing claims
- Understand coding principles
- Follow-up and resubmit rejected claims
- Appeal denied claims
- Accurately post payments made by insurance carriers & patients according to agreed upon amounts
- Follow-up on unpaid claims and work collection accounts within standard billing cycle time frame
- Follow-up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies
- Bill secondary insurances
- Generate patient statements
