Medical Billing Specialist

Stellar Senior Living is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our centralized support team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full-cycle billing process for our senior skilled communities, ensuring accurate claim submission, timely reimbursement, and compliance with all applicable regulations. This full-time position plays a critical role in supporting our skilled communities by maintaining financial accuracy and delivering exceptional service to residents and families. Requirements
- Previous experience in medical billing required (long-term care and skilled nursing strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care billing processes
- Knowledge of insurance verification and claims management
- Proficiency in billing software systems and Microsoft Office
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Process and submit Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and other third-party claims accurately
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and denials
- Post payments and adjustments in accordance with company policy
- Communicate with insurance companies, residents, and families regarding billing questions
- Maintain accurate resident billing records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations
- Collaborate with community leadership and corporate team members to resolve billing issues
- Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation processes
