Stellar Senior Living is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our centralized support team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full-cycle billing process for our senior skilled communities, ensuring accurate claim submission, timely reimbursement, and compliance with all applicable regulations. This full-time position plays a critical role in supporting our skilled communities by maintaining financial accuracy and delivering exceptional service to residents and families. Requirements

  • Previous experience in medical billing required (long-term care and skilled nursing strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care billing processes
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and claims management
  • Proficiency in billing software systems and Microsoft Office
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Process and submit Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and other third-party claims accurately
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and denials
  • Post payments and adjustments in accordance with company policy
  • Communicate with insurance companies, residents, and families regarding billing questions
  • Maintain accurate resident billing records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations
  • Collaborate with community leadership and corporate team members to resolve billing issues
  • Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation processes
