Description for Medical Billing Specialist: Perform posting charges Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing EMR Perform completion of claims to payers Reconcile missing encounters Resolve insurance denial instances Following up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe Checking each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with the contract discount Conduct duties in a professional and timely fashion Deploy, maintain and report on various programs Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts Reviewing patient bills for accuracy, completeness, and obtaining any missing information
Requirements
- Medical billing certificate; Associates Degree; or Proficient in electronic medical records
- Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Suite which includes Word, Excel, etc.
- Familiar with Insurance company websites or confident in navigating insurance websites
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Two years of experience in medical billing, or the; Equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.
- Vaccination proof for MMR, DTAP, Covid-19, and Hep B will be required for staff and patient safety.
