About The Position
The Medical Billing Specialist Project Lead is responsible for performing and completing special projects assigned by the Director of Acute Revenue Cycle and Manager of Claims. This role includes backing up billers when they are out or need additional help to complete their billing work in a timely manner. The specialist is tasked with resolving issues that lead to the need for special projects to ensure corrections are made or claims are processed efficiently. Additionally, the position involves completing follow-up reports by assigned due dates, processing refunds for billers, and handling tasks related to Midland, patient advocate tickets, and unapplied transactions promptly. The specialist will utilize resources available through payer websites, including Medicare and Medicaid, to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations while maintaining a detailed knowledge of carrier guidelines and regulations. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
