About The Position

The Medical Billing Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Medical Billing Department, ensuring efficient billing processes, and maximizing cash flow. This role involves supervising staff, managing client receivables, and providing financial analysis to support the practice's financial health. The position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to ethical standards in managing billing operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business management or equivalent experience in medical billing, finance, or accounting.
• Supervisory or management experience is strongly preferred.
• Prior medical office billing experience is required.
• Experience working with private insurance companies, Medicaid, and Medicare.
• Experience with surgery billing.
• Experience working with collection companies.
• Experience negotiating insurance contracts is a plus.

Nice To Haves

• Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the operations of the Billing Department, including claim submissions, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and denial management.
• Serves as the expert for Electronic Health Record billing and revenue categorization processes.
• Plans and directs staff workloads, client insurance documentation, and data processing to ensure accurate balances and efficient account collections.
• Reviews and resolves issues related to claim generations, clean claim ratios, and denied billings.
• Prepares and analyzes accounts receivable reports and monthly financial reports in support of the Controller.
• Audits current Client Financial Services processes to improve efficiency of client receivables and collection operations.
• Participates in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures.
• Analyzes trends impacting collection and accounts receivable.
• Carries out other responsibilities as assigned by upper management.
